Four people were injured in a serious traffic accident involving two private seven-seater vehicles and a bus on Avenida da Amizade near the racing paddock last night, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m, injuring three male drivers and one female bus passenger.
Speaking to the media, Wong Chi Wang, director of the Public Security Police’s (PSP) Traffic Department, said they had dispatched 14 officers, two emergency rescue vehicles, and four ambulances, along with 26 firefighters.
“We immediately cordoned off the road and assisted firefighters in rescuing the injured and sending them to the hospital.”
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident began when a white seven-seater lost control while overtaking near central water barriers.
The vehicle struck the barriers, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with a dark-colored seven-seater.

The force of the crash then pushed the second vehicle into a bus traveling behind it.
“We suspect the accident involved improper overtaking and excessive speed on a bend,” Wong said. He added that the driver of the white vehicle is preliminarily considered responsible and will face further investigation and possible prosecution.
All four injured individuals are local residents, aged between 35 and 61. One driver was trapped inside a vehicle and had to be rescued by firefighters using specialized equipment.
“The front of the car was severely damaged, compressing his lower body,” said a Fire Services Bureau chief Ng Chun Leong.
“We used hydraulic tools to open up space and successfully rescued him.” The driver sustained a fractured right thigh but was conscious and not in life-threatening condition.
The remaining injured included the bus driver, a female passenger, and a relative of the white vehicle driver. All suffered minor injuries, mainly chest contusions, and were reported to be in stable condition. No one required intensive care.
Authorities confirmed that both the white vehicle driver and the bus driver tested negative for alcohol, while the third driver has yet to be tested.
Police also addressed online footage showing water on the road, clarifying that it likely resulted from damaged barriers. “We believe the water came from the barriers after the collision,” Wong said, adding that further investigation is ongoing.
The damaged vehicles were later towed away and the road partially reopened.
Officials said they are assessing the number of damaged barriers and will coordinate repairs to restore safety. No other vehicles were reported to be involved.
