Handout cards to warn against negotiation

Andrew Scott said the MTPA is preparing some handout cards with messages and the DSAT complaint hotline on them, warning people not to negotiate fares. The messages are written in traditional and simplified Chinese, English and Portuguese. “Our next initiative is the handout cards. The first batch will be 10,000 cards and we are going to print out these business size cards, which basically advise people what the situation in Macau is. And our members are going to start handing them out, especially to tourists who come to Macau and don’t know what the situation in Macau is,” he said.
Mr Scott also pointed out that it is very difficult for tourists to launch a complaint if they only come to Macau for one day and do not want to waste their trip. Therefore, he is urging the government to change the law so that evidence can be collected on the spot rather than having the complainant have to attend a police station.
