The showcase of all of the GT racing cars, which are set to compete in the FIA GT World Cup concluded yesterday. Some of the two-wheel machines that will contest the 50th edition of the Motorcycle Grand Prix were also showcased, along with vintage motorbikes.

The exhibition gave an up-close preview of the racing machinery that will be in action on the 6.2km Guia street circuit from November 17 to 20. Michael Rutter, who has a record-setting eight Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix victories to his name, was a special guest, as was the 2015 winner Peter Hickman.

Sports car fans also witnessed the line-up of racing supercars, including the new Mercedes-
AMG GT3 which will make its Macau debut later this week as defending FIA GT World Cup champion Maro Engel’s car. Among the cars that were admired were the Audi R8 LMS of “Mr. Macau” Edoardo Mortara, the Porsche 911 GT3 R (991) of 2015 Le Mans 24 Hour winner Earl Bamber; and Macau driver André Couto’s Lamborghini Huracán GT3.

The Grand Prix’s two-wheel fans turned up to see the motorcycles that the world’s best road racers will race between the region’s steel Armco barriers and the collection of classic motorcycles representing more than five decades of history.
