Three individuals investigated for illegal currency exchange

One of the individuals allegedly received 346 RMB transfers from the mainland through “WeChat” and “Alipay” over a span of five months, commencing from November of last year. Subsequently, this individual promptly provided the corresponding amount in Hong Kong dollars to customers in Macau, totaling MOP3.81 million. These actions are suspected to be in violation of the established financial regulations. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has issued a public notice in the SAR Gazette, mandating the three individuals to present written defenses within a specified timeframe.
