A 26-member delegation of local youth concluded a four-day study tour to Jiangxi Province earlier this month, aimed at broadening participants’ understanding of national development, cultural heritage, and innovation opportunities.
Organized by the Wynn Care Foundation with support from Jiangxi Chinese Overseas Friendship Association, the tour took place from November 14 to 17 and covered multiple cities across the province, including Nanchang, Yingtan, Nanfeng, Ruijin, and Yudu County.
Led by Linda Chen, a Standing Committee member of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the CPPCC and president of the Wynn Care Foundation, the delegation included representatives from the Youth Committee of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association, Industry and Commerce Association of Macau, Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, and Wynn.
Zhao Lei, a First-level Principal Staff Member of the Coordination Division of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, also joined to provide guidance.
The itinerary focused on Jiangxi’s historical, cultural, and economic initiatives, highlighting revolutionary heritage, rural revitalization, and ecological development.
In Nanchang, the delegation visited the August 1 Uprising Memorial Hall, Wanshou Palace Historical Block, and the Tengwang Pavilion, gaining a deep understanding of the important role of Nanchang as a “Heroic City” in the history of the Chinese revolution and observing the integration of heritage preservation with modern commerce.
In Yingtan, participants explored Longhu Mountain, Tianshi Mansion, and undertook a bamboo raft journey along the Luxi River, showcasing the connection between ecotourism and local economic development.
The tour also included visits to Nanfeng County, renowned for its honey tangerines, where delegates toured modern orchards, including the Shehan Gold Premium Tangerine Orchard, to learn how the county has leveraged its distinctive agricultural sector to drive industrial upgrade and achieve rural revitalization.
Since 2023, Wynn has been involved in several projects in Jiangxi to support rural development and the growth of green industries.
Initiatives include the construction and upgrading of a bean processing plant in Xiushui County, a honey tangerine orchard in Nanfeng County, and a potato starch processing plant in Nancheng County.
The Shehan Gold Premium Tangerine Orchard has also been developed into a managed fruit garden and a small dedicated orchard.
The delegation also visited Ruijin, the former revolutionary capital, and Yudu County, the starting point of the Red Army’s Long March. Participants explored memorials, historical sites, and the home of a descendant of a Red Army martyr, gaining insight into the role of revolutionary history in rural revitalization and local development.
Focusing on “Dual-Innovation,” the tour aimed to inspire local youth in areas such as culture, tourism, and agricultural technology. Delegates said the tour provided firsthand exposure to Jiangxi’s achievements and opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Delegation members expressed a shared commitment to seize the opportunities arising from national advancement to showcase Macau’s strengths and serve the country,” a statement from Wynn Macau said.
“They will contribute to the extensive cooperation between Jiangxi and Macao and dedicate their youth to national development, thus assuming their patriotic responsibility and mission of the times.”
The study tour showcased the intersections of cultural heritage, rural revitalization, and innovation, offering youths insights into both historical preservation and modern economic development in Jiangxi. MDT Review
