Air Macau has welcomed its first wide-body aircraft this year, an A330-300 leased from Air China that arrived from Hangzhou. The carrier aims to introduce a second wide-body jet mid-year as it develops long-haul routes to Europe and the Middle East. The expansion comes after Air Macau announced plans in January to introduce two wide-body aircraft in support of Macau’s aviation sector. Currently, 26 airlines serve Macau International Airport, linking the city to 23 mainland Chinese cities, three Taiwanese destinations and 17 international ports.
