Beijing medical team rotation completed at Macau Union Medical Center

The Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) Macau Medical Center announced that it recently completed the handover of responsibilities between a new cohort of Beijing-based medical experts. The transition took place during a first-half 2026 work report meeting chaired by center president Liu Zhengyin and attended by Zhang Shuyang, president of PUMCH, and Han Ding, chairman of its strategic development committee.

According to the statement, the visiting delegation provided guidance and reviewed progress as the outgoing team transferred responsibilities to the newly stationed specialists.

PUMCH highlighted that over the past year, the Macau center has expanded clinical services in line with Macau’s healthcare needs.

The center stated that more than 3,500 surgeries have been performed, including over 400 complex, high-risk procedures. The emergency department now handles more than 200 patients daily.

Additional services include an assisted reproduction program, which began trial operations in July 2025 and has already resulted in successful pregnancies, as well as a newly opened intensive care unit that was inaugurated on June 22.

Since its establishment, the facility has also established the city’s largest oncology radiotherapy center and launched a nuclear medicine department. NS
