Briefs | Chui pledges to safeguard national security

The Chief Executive, Chui Sai On, pledged on Friday that he would to continue to safeguard national security, unity and territorial integrity. Chui made the remarks on the eve of the second National Security Education Day, which falls on April 15 each year. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of national security among the public. Chui said in a speech to the public that national security is closely related to daily life and, given the current unfortunate incidents in the international community, that Macau citizens should remember that the regional security measures are of vital importance to each of them on an individual level. The CE added that the stability of Macau relies on national security. Chui reiterated that Macau should stick to the “one country, two systems” principle, and “one country” should be the basis and prerequisite of “two systems.”

‘Native Colors’ to open on April 21

The exhibition, “Native Colors – Works by Célia Rosário” will open on April 21 at Art Garden gallery. The exhibition is organized by Art for All Association and features a total of 14 acrylic works. According to the organizers, most of the artist’s works depict totem images represented with striking color contrasts. The exhibition will be open to the public until May 7.

Gov’t reclaims 2,900 square meter plot of land

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) carried out an eviction that has finalized their reclamation of a plot of land in Taipa. The government previously designated the land, (with an area of approximately 2,900 square meters, located in the surroundings of the roundabout of Dr Sun Yat Sen and between Av de Guimarães, Av Dr Sun Yat Sen and Rua Siu Kuan) to be used to build the new facilities of the Public Security Police Force (PSP) in Taipa, that will be located right next to the Taipa Fire Services (CB). The 2,900 square meter plot of land had been illegally occupied as a deposit for ship containers, construction materials and machines, according to the bureau.
