IAM ensures safety of imported pork amid african swine fever cases in Spain

In response to reported African swine fever cases in Spain, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) reassured the public that only about 1.9% of Macau’s frozen pork products are imported from Spain, with most sourced from mainland China, Brazil, Poland, Russia, and other regions.
Authorities stated that during import inspections, pork from affected areas will be withheld until risks are eliminated. The bureau advised residents to thoroughly cook pork, avoid purchasing from unlicensed vendors, and refrain from bringing meat into the territory privately.
