IPIM promotes Macau as events destination

Jackson Chang, the President of the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), attended an exhibition and convention association in Malaysia last week, where he promoted Macau as a top destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). The visit is a prelude to the government’s intention to step up the development of the territory’s MICE industries, starting next year.
The Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) held an Advisory Council meeting in Kuala Lumpur from November 10 to 12, where leaders and elites of the convention and exhibition industry planned the sustainable development of Asia’s MICE industry.
Chang also visited the AEC+ Expo, an exhibition platform that aims to share current innovation technologies and latest developments as a platform for improvement in the MICE industries.
MICE, a branch of tourism in which large groups are brought together for a particular purpose, has become a key industry in many Asian cities. To this end, AFECA is bolstering the overall development of the MICE industry by building a platform for exchange and cooperation.
Chang met with numerous leaders and elites, to whom he introduced the advantages of Macau as a MICE destination, and highlighted IPIM’s role in supporting event and exhibition planners in the SAR. The IPIM president said that the meeting had been useful in reinforcing contacts and communication, and had been a platform from which to promote the many advantages of Macau’s MICE industry.
