The Macau Bats hosted their annual Rugby Festival last Saturday at The International School (TIS) field in Taipa. Forty teams entered the tournament, coming from China, Hong Kong and Macau.
A good crowd of over 1,000 spectators cheered on the teams, in what were ideal playing conditions.
Hong Kong Football Club had a successful day, with their U6 and U10s team winning their respective age level Cups. Monkey Rugby Club from Hong Kong won the U7 Cup 1-0 against USRC Tigers; Valley Fort took the U8 Cup by 2-0 over Sai Kung Stingrays, while Sandy Bay emerged victorious in the U9 Cup.
Macau Bats teams performed well with U10s and U8s qualifying for the Plate Final, while the U7s and U9s took their respective Bowl trophies. Donald Shaw
