Motorcycle rider dies in Ferry Bridge crash with taxi

motorcycle rider, Ms San, aged 52, who was a Macau Daily Times staffer for over 11 years, died on Friday around 5:46 a.m. due to an accident at Ponte da Amizade.

According to information by the Public Security Police Force (PSP), that hour, the police received a traffic accident report involving a taxi and a motorcycle that left one injured person in a critical condition being sent to the Conde de São Januário Hospital Center.
At 6:50 a.m., Ms San was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of multiple fractures.

The police report also stated that she was found under the taxi after being dragged underneath the vehicle for some period following the initial collision.

Ms San had been a part-time collaborator of the Macau Daily Times since the newspaper was launched in June 1, 2007. She was responsible for the distribution of the newspaper to government departments in Macau and to subscribers in Taipa.

At the time of the accident, she was starting her daily job distributing the Macau Daily Times newspaper.

MDT contacted the police for more information on the accident, but no further details were revealed. The case is still under investigation.  RM
