Portuguese Education Minister to meet Sam Hou Fai in Macau visit


Portuguese Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation Fernando Alexandre will visit Macau this week to attend official celebrations marking Portugal Day, Camões Day, and the Day of the Portuguese Communities, as cited in a TDM report.
According to the Portuguese Consulate-General in Macau, his program includes a meeting with Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai at 4:15 p.m. today at the Government Headquarters. Earlier, at 4 p.m., Alexandre will attend the signing of a cooperation agreement between Macao Polytechnic University and the University of Coimbra to develop a joint campus in Hengqin.
The official will take part in several Portugal Day commemorative events today. These begin at 9:30 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony at the consulate, followed by a 10:30 a.m. visit to Camões Grotto. At 6:15 p.m., he will attend an official reception at the Portuguese School of Macau (EPM)
After his Macau visit, Alexandre will travel to Beijing on June 11 and is scheduled to return on June 15. On that day, he will attend the opening ceremony of the Association of Portuguese Language Universities meeting at the University of Macau and visit EPM in the afternoon.
