Two projects from the local architecture firm LBA Arquitectura e Planeamento Lda. (LBA) have been shortlisted for the 2024 Cross-Strait Architectural Awards (CADA).
According to the statement, the shortlisted projects include the Barra Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Station and the Fai Chi Kei Social Housing.
The CADA, organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, awards architectural design and urban planning projects focusing on built work within the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
“We are happy with this recognition. The CADA 2024 HKIA Architecture Awards are an important benchmark for peer-reviewed evaluation of best practices in architecture. In the GBA, it is the most prestigious recognition for design practices,” said Rui Leão, partner at LBA.
“This recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of architectural design while addressing the evolving needs of communities and the environment. We are thrilled to be part of such a prestigious platform that celebrates global architectural excellence in the GBA,” he added.
The firm also noted that the two projects exemplify LBA’s commitment to creating spaces that harmonize functionality, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility.
The winners of the CADA 2024 HKIA Architecture Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony in Hong Kong on March 1 of this year.
