Each Chinese New Year, Sands China turns festive blessings into meaningful actions – bringing care, warmth, and goodwill into the community.
Senior management from Las Vegas Sands and Sands China brought the Sands Cares spirit of community service to life this month with an annual Lunar New Year community service initiative that translates festive joy into community support and reflects deep respect for Chinese culture.

Patrick Dumont, president and chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sands, senior management, Sands Cares Ambassadors, and other Sands China team members – 300 participants in all – assembled 2,000 Lunar New Year gift packs containing over 20,000 essential foods and items sourced from Fuhong Society of Macau, including cooking oil, rice, noodles, and cleaning supplies. The kits also included festive fai chun handwritten by team members, including Dumont and management – giving them first-hand appreciation of the cultural significance and auspicious meanings of Fu (福). The packs are being delivered to elderly users of the Peng On Tung service and individuals in need.

A total of 220 Sands China volunteers also visited 200 elderly users of the Peng On Tung Tele-Assistance Service to deliver festive blessings to seniors at Seac Pai Van Public Housing and Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde. The company has partnered with Peng On Tung and the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau for 19 consecutive years to co-organise these Chinese New Year spring cleaning visits. During the visits, some professionally trained Sands Cares Ambassadors provided haircuts and simple home repair services to seniors in need. For the first time, this year’s event invited local non-profit Everyone Stray Dogs Macau to join with their animal companions, strengthening the friendly, inclusive neighbourhood atmosphere.

Through thoughtful action, practical support, and genuine engagement, Sands China continues to live out the Sands Cares spirit, strengthening its partnership with Macao and working hand in hand with the community to build a more caring, inclusive society.
