
Six judges took their oaths of office yesterday during a ceremony at noon, presided over by Court of Final Appeal president Song Man Lei. Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai, Independent Commission for the Appointment of Judges president Lau Cheok Va, the secretaries for administration, justice, and security, the public prosecutor, the Anti-Corruption Commission commissioner, and other judicial officials attended the ceremony.
Executive Order No. 64/2025, published Dec. 12 in the Official Gazette (No. 49, Series I), appointed Choi Mou Pan as president of the Court of Second Instance for a renewable three-year term, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
A separate order, No. 65/2025, appointed Ho Wai Neng as a Court of Final Appeal judge, Lou Ieng Ha as a Court of Second Instance judge, and Io Weng San and Rong Qi as presidents of the Collective Courts of First Instance – all effective Jan. 1.
Jerónimo Alberto Gonçalves Santos received a two-year contract as a judge at the Court of Second Instance, effective the same date. NS
