Taipa Village Cultural Association presents ‘Show-Off 4.0’ exhibition

Taipa Village Cultural Association is presenting Show-Off 4.0, the fourth installment of its art collectors’ exhibition series, from today until May 15 at Taipa Village Art Space.

The exhibition features the personal art collections of economist José Isaac Duarte, legal consultant Luís Pessanha, and artist Chao Iok Leng. Show-Off 4.0 continues the series’ exploration of collecting as a cultural practice, showcasing how individual collections reflect personal identity, creativity, and social value.

The exhibited works include paintings, photography, and traditional Chinese shop plaques, sourced locally and internationally.

The exhibition also features selected artworks by Mozambican modern artist Malangatana Valente Ngwenya, known for his contributions to 20th-century African art and represented in international collections.

According to Taipa Village Cultural Association President João Ó, the exhibition aims to stimulate dialogue on cultural possessions and the role of private collecting in supporting artistic vitality.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
