Bishop’s Easter message focused on forgiveness

Macau Bishop Stephen Lee issued an Easter message urging “all pastoral groups and institutions in the Diocese to work towards a culture of mercy, reconciliation and communion of youth and family.” Noting that “there can be no healthy marriage or healthy family without the exercise of forgiveness in the family,” the Macau Bishop centered his Easter message on the concept of forgiveness. “One who does not forgive sickens physically, emotionally and spiritually,” Lee wrote.

Edmund Ho meets with Suu Kyi

Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Former Chief Executive of Macau, Edmund Ho Hau Wah, met yesterday with Myanmar’s State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi at the presidential residence in Naypyitaw, Myanmar. A delegation led by Edmund Ho Hau Wah arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday evening. They were welcomed by Union Minister for International Cooperation, U Kyaw Tin, and the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Hong Liang, at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

Accreditation scheme calls for applications

The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held two promotional seminars yesterday at the Convention Center of Macau Science Center to call for new applications from catering and travel agency sectors for the Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme, which has been carried out for the fifth year. Interested merchants who meet the necessary criteria for the Scheme may submit applications and supporting documents to MGTO from April 3 to 30. Acting director Cheng Wai Tong of MGTO and representatives from a number of supporting entities were present at the seminars, which introduced the application procedures and assessment criteria of the Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme.
