The recent opening of Blanc de Vie Medical Centre at Wynn Palace represents more than just the arrival of a new beauty clinic – it marks an expansion of the SAR’s health- and wellness-industry.
As the city seeks to diversify its economy and promote “Tourism +” sectors, the integration of premium medical aesthetic services from Korea reflects a growing emphasis on wellness tourism and cross-border healthcare.
Invited for an introductory visit, I experienced first-hand the clinic’s structured, non-invasive approach to facial assessment and enhancement.
The consultation was meticulous and tailored, with procedures recommended based on facial proportions, skin condition, and age.
Most notably, Blanc de Vie specializes in face-lifting and facial-contouring injections – treatments that aim to subtly refine features rather than dramatically alter them.
According to Patrick Sa, chief operating officer of Blanc de Vie, the philosophy is centered on natural aesthetics, in contrast to more volume-focused or invasive methods commonly seen elsewhere.
This commitment to a minimal, “natural look” is rooted in Blanc de Vie’s two long-standing mottoes: “Clear, Bright and Glossy” and “Aesthetics of Naturalness.”
These principles have guided the clinic since 2007, when CEO Choi Jun founded its predecessor, the Maylin Clinic.
Over nearly two decades, Blanc de Vie has grown into one of South Korea’s most recognized dermatology brands, known for its commitment to subtle enhancement and procedural safety.
A milestone in the clinic’s development came in 2011, when Blanc de Vie opened a location inside Hyundai Department Store, one of Korea’s most prestigious retail venues.
As explained by Sa to the Times, among the innovations credited to Blanc de Vie is the development of Titanium Lifting, a three-wavelength laser procedure pioneered by CEO Choi himself.
His thesis on the technique was published in a SCI-level academic journal, validating the treatment’s scientific merit and practical results. The clinic later introduced Quattro Lifting, a four-wavelength evolution of the original method, which expanded the options available for non-invasive facial rejuvenation.
During my visit, the technician recommended the Jovena treatment, which Blanc de Vie offers as a non-invasive option for skin tightening and rejuvenation.
The procedure combines two patented technologies – RF Diatermocontraction and Fractional Plasma – to stimulate collagen production, target both skin and muscle layers, and naturally enhance elasticity and firmness for a subtle lifting effect.
The treatment targets both the skin and underlying muscles, promoting natural regeneration, enhancing elasticity, and gently lifting the face without invasive procedures.
I also received the Hyzer Me treatment, a non-invasive procedure skillfully carried out by the technician. Using High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), it delivers targeted heat to the skin’s SMAS layer to stimulate collagen and elastin production, promoting natural lifting and firming.
The result is natural lifting and tightening, along with smoother skin and reduced fine lines.
On most days, Sa described a typical treatment plan that might include Jovina lifting, contour injections – often referred to as the “sculpture injection” – and body-shaping procedures.
The sculpture injection, in particular, is widely recognized in Korea as one of the clinic’s signature services.
Rather than adding volume with filler, the goal is to reduce facial bulk for a more refined appearance. This “minus effect” aligns with the clinic’s broader philosophy of enhancing one’s natural structure, not masking it.
Procedures such as Titanium Sculpting, Thread Lifting, and Philtrum Shaping are also offered, requiring what staff describe as “an excellent aesthetic sense.”
Though relatively unfamiliar in the local market, these techniques are gaining traction among clients looking for subtle, camera-ready results without the downtime or risks associated with surgery.
By focusing on confidence through natural beauty, Blanc de Vie appeals to a growing demographic that values subtle, safe, and evidence-backed enhancement. MDT Review
