Corporate Bits | European Chamber of Commerce donates to Italy and Spain relief efforts

The Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC) has donated MOP40,000 to both the Italian Red Cross Cross (Associazione della Croce Rossa Italiana), and the Spanish Red Cross (Cruz Roja Española) to support their efforts in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

The donations now made will be used to acquire equipment and suitable kits to ambulances that carry patients to the hospitals.

The funds were delivered directly to these entities as part of the support campaigns being run internationally. All organizations and individuals are welcome to make similar donations.

As the Covid-19 pandemic ravages through Europe, Italy and Spain are still considered to be the most affected countries on the continent. According to the MECC, “it is important to show, with concrete actions, the solidarity of Macau to these countries.”

The MECC was founded in 2013 by six European chambers of commerce in Macau, namely France, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Romania and the United Kingdom, with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute the Institute of European Studies of Macau as honorary members.
