CRIME | DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Man detained for allegedly choking wife
The Judiciary Police (PJ) is holding a man in custody and will charge him with aggravated assault after he was alleged to have choked his wife causing her to fall into a coma. A PJ spokesperson revealed yesterday that the man was arrested last Friday.
They suspected that he was arguing with the victim for a divorce and the custody of their 10-year-old son when he choked his wife until she lost consciousness.
The spokesperson said that the man called the ambulance after the incident and claimed that his wife had tried to attack him with a knife. However, since there were only two of them at the scene, the PJ cannot verify his account until after the victim wakes from her coma.
