Health Bureau warns of high Covid-19 and influenza activity

The Health Bureau (SSM) has issued a public health alert, noting that Covid-19 and influenza transmission continues at a high level. According to the latest surveillance data, influenza accounted for 24% of consultations for fever and respiratory symptoms in the past week, while Covid-19 accounted for 20%. The bureau has urged residents to observe personal hygiene and protective measures. Separately, enterovirus cases in June increased by approximately 1.9 times compared with the same month last year and 1.3 times compared with May, though authorities have reported a significant decline in the first two weeks of July following the closure of daycare centers and kindergartens for the summer holidays
