Consumption Grand Prix

Lawmaker demands answers as residents report zero wins, app glitches in prize draw

Frustration is mounting over the Community Consumption Grand Prix campaign, with lawmaker José Pereira Coutinho reporting that he has received widespread complaints from residents who failed to win any prize despite entering the draw three times.

The lawmaker, in his written message on his social media platform, has demanded an explanation from authorities over the campaign after receiving numerous complaints from residents.

“Over the past week, I have received numerous complaints from residents across all walks of life,” he noted, adding that complainants said, “Although they have entered the draw three times, they have not won a single prize.”

He went on to demand: “The relevant authorities have a responsibility to explain what happened this time, how much money was spent in total, and where that money ultimately went.”

Coutinho also mentioned receiving numerous complaints from families regarding the lottery system, warning that it has a profound impact on children and can easily lead them to develop a gambling tendency. He argued that the best way to stimulate local consumption and primarily support the poorest families is through a system that directly injects funds into consumption cards.

Meanwhile, the Times has received reports from several users of different e-wallet apps stating that, even though they did not accidentally tap any controls, the campaign screen indicated they had already entered the prize draw. The users believe that glitches in the campaign caused them to miss the opportunity to enter the draw.
