Macau Grand Prix | Organizers conduct rescue training drill with FIA

The Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee (MGPOC) conducted a rescue training drill over the weekend with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) at the Macau Grand Prix Building. The drill aimed to ensure that all rescue team members were trained to the highest internationally-recognized standards.

The Extrication Consultant for this year’s event, Jean-Jacques Issermann, and FIA medical delegate, Jacques Tropenat, provided professional instruction, shared their experience and gave demonstrations.

The MGPOC said in a statement yesterday that the course content included car accident simulation training, rescue practice and assessment. More than 80 doctors, nurses and firemen participated and received certificates from the FIA upon passing the course examination.

The committee added that since 2007, all rescue personnel at the event have been Macau residents. Since then, the MGPOC and the FIA have jointly organized annual courses to provide professional training for rescue personnel, ensuring they are equipped with sufficient knowledge and ability to provide timely medical intervention and rescue services. To date, more than 500 participants have taken this course and worked at the Macau Grand Prix.
