Majority of 2019 public housing units sold six months after selection

By six months after the 2019 public housing unit selection, a total of 2,054 of the 3,017 units offered have been sold, representing approximately 68% of the total, according to the latest data from the Housing Bureau (IH).
Notably, all 1,257 three-bedroom units have been fully sold.
The bureau’s figures show that among the families who have selected units, two-person households account for 30%, three-person households for 36%, and the remainder are four-person households or larger.
Out of the 4,811 households that underwent formal review, three are still awaiting unit selection, 535 remain under review, 971 were found ineligible, and 784 have withdrawn their applications.
Meanwhile, the 3,017 units are located in Zone A.
Among the remaining unsold units, 739 are one-bedroom units and 224 are two-bedroom units.
The IH said it continues to finalize sales and review applications, aiming to ensure fair allocation and transparency.
The bureau also stressed the importance of monitoring demand and supply to meet the housing needs of local families.
