Gaming operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced another contribution in Macau’s fight against Covid-19.
In a statement issued yesterday, Melco said it has donated 500,000 surgical masks to the government and the local community, with 200,000 such masks being donated directly to designated NGOs operating under the Social Welfare Bureau.
The masks will go to help vulnerable groups in the community, such as the elderly, single families, long-term patients, and medical patient support staff, according to Melco.
“We trust the combined efforts of the Macau SAR Government, businesses and members of the public will enable us to collectively overcome Covid-19 and become an ever-stronger and more united community,” said Lawrence Ho, Chairman & CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, according to the company’s statement.
“We are grateful for the Government’s continued anti-epidemic efforts and hope the mask donation will support frontline medical workers in their daily fight against the spread of the virus. We also express gratitude to our community partners for joining us in distributing the 200,000 masks at this difficult time to persons in need.”
