Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture O Lam expressed condolences to the family of Leong Sao Chan, a prominent figure in the medical sector and former secretary-general and director of the Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association, mourning her passing. As cited in a statement, Leong dedicated her life to healthcare development since joining Kiang Wu Nursing School in 1939. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, she provided medical care alongside colleagues. She later led hospital reforms, modernized services, and trained generations of local medical professionals, transforming Kiang Wu into a comprehensive modern hospital.
