Welcome back to the second installment in this article on the most popular places to live in Macau.
We are often asked by people new to hunting for a home in Macau “Where is the best place to live?”. Last week we highlighted Manhattan in Taipa, Hellene Gardens in Coloane and One Central in Macau.
This week we will take a look at property in Macau, Taipa and Cotai.
Of course there will always be pros and cons in any property and location, so its good to know what is essential and what is desirable to make it a good choice for you.

1. Macau – Vile
de Mer, Residencia, The Praia
a. Area: Newly developing residential area on Macau side near to the China border and bridge to Taipa.
b. Amenities: Increasing number of restaurants, supermarkets, and coffee shops. Bus Stops are walking distance as are taxis.
c. Building facilities: These are usually very good including gym, pool,  entertainment rooms, gardens and concierge.
d. Property Features: New, modern and good value money.
e. Rental Prices: Mid-range.
f.  Advantages: Great value for money.
g. Drawbacks: Getting across the bridge to Taipa.

2. One Grantai, Cotai
a. Area: Edge of Old Taipa and the closest residential building to Cotai.
b. Amenities: Walking distance to Old Taipa, Cotai casinos and hotels. Shops at the Venetian are on hand as are the restaurants and bars of Old Taipa. Bus Stops and taxis are a short walk. There is also a shuttle bus service.
c. Building facilities: This is a newly opened spacious high rise building with modern facilities including a gym and swimming pool.
d. Property Features: Good ceiling heights give a feeling of space and provide good views to Taipa hill or Cotai.
e. Rental Prices: High End.
f. Advantages: Location half way between Taipa & Cotai.
g. Drawbacks: Dark floors make the apartments feel quiet dark.

3. Pearl on the Lough, Taipa
a. Area: Outskirts of Taipa, residential.
b. Amenities: 10 minute walk to Taipa also close to the airport.
c. Building facilities: Play area for children, gym, dance studio and swimming pool.
d. Property Features: Good floor plan, bright and airy with excellent views across to Macau.
e. Rental Prices: High End
f. Advantages: Great living spaces
g. Drawbacks: Location can be difficult to travel to.

In the remaining articles we cover the historic areas Coloane Old Village, Old Taipa and St Paul’s Ruins as well as developments in Taipa and Cotai.
