Sulu Sou calls supporters to attend Sunday’s ANM meeting

Sulu Sou was  yesterday handing out leaflets in the Senado Square area calling for the public to attend the meeting organized by the New Macau Association, which will be held on Sunday evening.

Sou is facing suspension from his lawmaker position after a case dating back to a 2016 demonstration surfaced last month, where he was accused of having walked on the road (instead of the sidewalk) without permission from the authorities. He now stands accused of aggravated disobedience.

The New Macau Association is planning to hold the meeting at the Rotunda de Carlos da Maia between 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“Since the moment he was elected as a lawmaker, Sulu Sou shouldered the mission of reforming the Legislative Assembly, spending all his efforts in order to achieve that,” the leaflet reads. “The New Macau Association recommended a young man who is trustworthy and who will realize the promises.”

“When the young people bravely resist injustice […], what is the government doing? What happened […] is not solely Sulu Sou’s issue, but also an issue of the team and the public who this young man stands for,” the leaflet reads. JZ
