The Buzz | Okada released ‘unconditionally’ by HK anti-corruption agency, Azure says

Kazuo Okada has been released unconditionally by Hong Kong’s anti-corruption agency after being arrested for unspecified offences, the media reported over the weekend.

The reports were based on a statement released on Friday by one of Okada’s companies, Aruze Gaming.

Okada, known as “the king of pachinko,” had been granted bail by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) since his arrest came to light in August.

“Mr Kazuo Okada is pleased to announce that Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption has released him from bail unconditionally,” the statement said as reported by SCMP.

In a separate development, Macau’s Court of Second instance dismissed an appeal filed by the Japanese billionaire against a negative ruling by the first court over a billion-dollar lawsuit involving Wynn Macau, as reported by MDT last week.
