UK poultry imports officially banned due to avian flu

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has announced a ban on poultry meat and products from East Sussex and Shropshire, UK, due to a highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza outbreak. The bureau emphasized that import applications from these regions will not be approved. All fresh food entering Macau must undergo compulsory inspection and quarantine, requiring health certifications from the country of origin. With the outbreak, local health authorities cannot issue these certificates, rendering imports ineligible. The bureau will continue to monitor animal-derived product applications and implement preventive measures in line with World Organization for Animal Health guidelines.
