Court rejects STDM’s appeal over land plot

The Court of Second Instance (TSI) rejected the appeal of the Sociedade de Turismo de Divisões de Macau, S.A. (STDM), regarding the concession of a land plot located in the landfill zone of the outer harbor of Macau. On November 8 of 2016, the Macau government issued a Chief Executive order declaring the end of that land’s lease. The company appealed to the TSI, alleging that the CE’s order contained flaws, including breaching the principles of impartiality and the lack of a prior hearing before the announcement.
