Briefs | Public called to regularly examine window safety

It was suggested to local property owners that they examine the windows of their properties once every six months. The president of the Macao Association of Buildings Diagnosis, Ip Fu Kong, explained that many housing units in Macau have not been used for a long period and owners do not pay close attention to maintaining their structure. As a result, when Macau encounters strong winds, there is a chance the windows may fall. In Macau, building and window examinations are not mandatory. Ip proposes that the local government should carry out one-year mandatory window examinations, similar to what is implemented in Macau’s neighboring region.
