The Macao Cultural Centre will present its Children’s Choir Annual Concert on December 18 at the Small Auditorium. This year’s performance will include a wide range of internationally-known tunes and will feature choreography to dramatize some of the songs. Adults and children will have the chance to enjoy a cappella performances by little choristers. The CCM Children’s Choir provides quality music education to children aged eight to 16. Through weekly choral practices, music appreciation and creative activities, choristers develop their interest and talent in music, as well as interpersonal skills and ability to appreciate art. Ticket distribution for the performance starts today at CCM’s box Office and Macao Ticketing Network outlets. Each person may collect two tickets, available on a first-come first-served basis. Admission is free.

Macau to play Solidarity Cup final

Macau will play the final of the inaugural Solidarity Cup with Nepal today. According to Fox Sports, the hero of the night was Macau’s goalkeeper Ho Man Fai, who saved two penalties to help his team into the final.

Special Education teachers leave jobs

Ho Chong Chun, assistant coordinator of the Advisory Council of Community Services of the North Area, revealed that many special education teachers leave their jobs because of poor salaries and welfare conditions. Ho added that these educators specifically worked in speech therapy and other fields with children who have learning disabilities from an early age. These professionals fall under the administration of the Social Welfare Bureau and not the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, which provides better resources for teachers in normal schools. Ho says most educators in this sector have to pay for their own training, unlike those sponsored by the government.
