004—006 FNM2014 Poster v2The UFC organization has announced that it will feature its first-ever women’s match-up in Asia at “UFC Fight Night Macao: Bisping vs. Le” on Saturday, August 23. Russia’s Milana Dudieva is set to take on American Elizabeth Phillips in a women’s bantamweight (135 pound) fight at the Cotai Arena in The Venetian Macao.
Dudieva (10-3 professional MMA record, fighting out of Alagir, Russia), who will be making her UFC debut, and Phillips (4-2, fighting out of Spokane, Washington), a former Washington State Amateur MMA champion, are bringing a combined 10 first round finishes to the Octagon in what promises to be a supercharged clash between two division up-and-comers.
“I’m excited for this event to be at The Venetian Macao and for it to be making history as the first ever UFC women’s fight in Asia,” commented Dana White, UFC president. “The women’s division has become very popular around the world, and Ronda Rousey has become arguably the biggest star in the sport. This women’s bout is an amazing addition to an already stellar card.”
“We’re pleased to be hosting another first for Macao and for Asia with this exciting women’s bout at UFC Fight Night Macao,” said Olaf Gueldner, Sands China senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
Undefeated bantamweight champion and Olympian, Ronda Rousey, who recently won the ESPY’s 2014 award for top female athlete, will be attending the event. Ronda’s success and global appeal has helped the growth of women’s mixed martial arts and in turn the growth of the sport in Asia. “I am so excited to be coming back to Asia, and so proud to be here as the UFC reaches another incredible milestone in women’s MMA,” commented Ronda.  Joined by other guest fighters, Ronda will be taking part in a variety of activities across the week of the fight in Macau.

image002summergate launches the london no. 1 gin in macau & hk

Summergate announced yesterday that they are to fill the spot as the sole importer and distributor of The London No. 1 Gin in Macau and Hong Kong.
The company announced it will distribute The London No. 1 Gin to bars, restaurants, hotels, and fine bottle shops all across the region, through their network of 13 registered offices and warehouses covering the country.
According to Summergate, “imports of gin into Greater China have almost doubled in the past three years, from a modest base. As a genuine cocktail culture takes hold across the main cities in the region, demand for a fine and distinctive gin authentically produced in London is expected to rise significantly throughout the years ahead.”
The London No. 1 Gin is a quadruple-distilled gin made authentically in London from local grains. It is flavored with botanicals including cinnamon, angelica, bergamot, and also macerated gardenia flowers, lending the gin a natural and stylish blue tint.
Founded in 1999, Summergate is a player in the Greater China drinks market. Through 13 registered and licensed offices, including in Hong Kong and Macau, Summergate works directly with several thousand contracted retail buyers, as well as hundreds of downstream distributors.
