Corporate Bits | “Ik” Yang Lian Hui returns to the Venetian in world title fight

Undefeated No. 2 world-rated junior welterweight contender “IK” Yang Lian Hui of China will get his first world title shot in a homecoming fight when he battles Cesar “El Distinto” Cuenca of Argentina for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior welterweight world championship, Saturday, July 18, at 5:30 p.m. at The Venetian’s Cotai Arena.
The “Victory at The Venetian” boxing event will also feature IBF lightweight world champion Mickey “The Spirit” Bey, Jr. of the United States, defending his title against Denis “Genghis Khan” Shafikov of Russia. The undercard card will feature former five-division world champion and 2012 Fighter of the Year Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire of the Philippines against Anthony Settoul of France, popular undefeated contenders Rex “The Wonder Kid” Tso and “The Macao Kid” Kuok Kun Ng and 2012 U.S. Olympian and undefeated lightweight contender Jose Ramirez in separate bouts.

At Hotel Royal’s Fado restaurant, Portuguese Executive Chef Luís Américo is presenting two a-la-carte specials exclusively for dad’s day, including Lobster with coriander butter sauce, sautéed vegetables and olive oil bread crumbs and The Ibérico – Slow cooked cheek, grilled secreto and braised neck with apple mousse, baked polenta, sautéed green peas and carrot. This menu is only available on June 20 and June 21.
Meanwhile, for Chinese food, Catalpa Garden Shanghainese Restaurant’s master chef has created a Father’s Day set menu including his picks of Shanghai dishes, such as Braised beche-de-mer with shrimp roe, Mandarin fish with pine nuts in sweet and sour sauce, Fried prawn with brown sauce, and Steamed black glutinous rice with mashed red bean. The set menu is available from June 17 to June 21.
