Melco Crown Entertainment recently offered a behind the scenes tour of Studio City to students from the School of Arts at the Macao Polytechnic Institute.
Twenty-six lecturers and students majoring in design toured the 5,000-seat Studio City Event Center and the House of Magic, unlocking the secrets of the magic show from backstage. According to a press release, the delegation was briefed on the design, construction and operation of the Batman Dark Flight, the world’s first flight simulation ride based on the “Batman” franchise. The tour concluded at the Golden Reel, the world’s highest figure-eight Ferris wheel.

The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central was awarded the “Best New Hotel in Macau” at the Ninth Annual TTG China Travel Awards 2016 in Shanghai.

The TTG China Travel Awards ceremony is a TTG Travel Trade Publishing Event organized by TTG China and held annually in Shanghai. The TTG China Travel Awards have been recognizing the best of Greater China’s travel industry since 2008. This prestigious annual event honors stellar travel suppliers in the region, including airlines, hotels and resorts, serviced residences and travel services.
cem to hold camp to promote energy saving
CEM is set to hold an “Experience Life without Electricity Camp” for the first time this August, targeting youngsters to help them understand the importance of conserving energy.
A press release stated that activities at the camp would include learning how power is generated, learning about local generation, visiting the facilities of CEM and learning ways to deal with power outages.
The activity, co-organized by the Scout Association of Macau, the Women’s General Association and the Youth Center of Macau Federation of Trade Unions, invites local full-time secondary school students in forms four to six to attend in teams of five to six people.
All participants will have the chance to win awards, with cash prizes of MOP4,000, MOP2,000 and MOP1,000. Other awards include the “Best Teamwork Award” and the “Loving Care Award”, whose winners will receive round-trip tickets for two to Taiwan for the former, and two sets of Hong Kong Disneyland tickets plus round-trip jetfoil tickets for the latter award.
