Just two months after its grand opening, Morpheus Hotel has been hailed as one of the ‘World’s Greatest Places 2018’ by Time magazine, making it the only Macau entry on the list. This sought-after accolade is part of a new annual list put together from nominations by Time editors and experts around the world to recognize 100 new and emerging destinations and locations that are breaking new ground.

To create the list, Time solicits nominations across a variety of categories, including museums, parks, bars, restaurants, theme parks, cruises and hotels, from TIME editors and correspondents around the world, as well as dozens of industry experts. The magazine evaluates each one based on several key factors, including quality, originality, innovation, sustainability and influence. The result is a list as diverse as the world it reflects, with entries spanning six continents and 48 countries.

‘We are thrilled to receive such a prestigious accolade from TIME magazine so soon after opening,’ said Lawrence Ho, chairman and CEO at Melco Resorts & Entertainment. ‘At Melco, we continually strive to provide our guests with one-of-a-
kind experiences that raise the bar in terms of luxury and design and Morpheus is the perfect expression of that vision. With Morpheus, we have solidified our position as a pioneer and innovator in premium travel, leisure and entertainment, and we are proud to help drive Macau’s reputation as the World Center of Tourism and Leisure.’

CESL Asia hosts ‘Kids Movie Day’

CESL Asia hosted its “Kids Movie Day” for the eighth consecutive year. It invited four associations to join the event.

The company and its Social Investment (CSI) Team have involved over 15 local institutions in the event over the years, the company said in a statement.

These associations include the Fuhong Society of Macau, the Association of Mentally Disabled Families, the Mong Ha Children and Youth Home, and Joy Integrated Family Service Centre of Caritas Macau, together with children from the firm’s CSI Team, to make up a total of 120 participants.

The performance and interactive game show of Ronald McDonald were highlights of the event.

The CSI Team then led participants to the Planetarium at the Macao Science Center for an introduction of local company services which benefit the community, where it was explained how those services are connected with the children’s daily lives.
