DSEDT checks on SMEs in low-lying areas

Following Typhoon Tapah on Sunday night, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center deployed staff to assess conditions for merchants in low-lying areas. Inspection teams visited the Inner Harbor and other streets to review the resumption of business operations. Merchants appeared well-prepared, with some installing flood gates and pumps. Authorities also encouraged small and medium-sized enterprises to consider catastrophe property insurance covering damages caused by Typhoon Signal No. 8, red storm surges, or black rainstorm warnings.
