First-ever ‘NBA House’ in Macau offers chance to meet legends

The first-ever NBA House in Macau opened its doors to the public yesterday, launching a five-day, interactive fan experience at The Venetian Macao Cotai Expo (Hall A) that runs through October 12, offering both live game action and interactive fan engagement.

The free event showcases a combination of basketball, music, fashion, and technology, featuring 10 NBA legends, including Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, Tim Hardaway Sr., Jeremy Lin, Stephon Marbury, Shawn Marion, Yao Ming, Shaquille O’Neal, Mitch Richmond, and Deron Williams for in-person fan interactions.

The launch coincides with the NBA China Games 2025, featuring the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns playing two preseason games on October 10 and 12 at The Venetian Arena.

Spanning 14,000 square meters with nearly 30 booths, the NBA House provides diverse activities including live game viewing parties, photo opportunities with the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, and skills clinics on a dedicated court. Local SMEs from Rua das Estalagens are operating food and beverage stations at the venue.

Unique technological installations include an LED basketball fountain, LED stage court, and NBA tunnel walk, blending sport with digital art. Interactive booths allow visitors to collect stamps and redeem NBA-themed prizes.

Additional attractions feature a Nets-themed photo booth, Suns sneaker vault, NBA inflatable castle for children, and an NBA replay center experience where fans can step into the role of an NBA referee.

Besides NBA’s own showcases, including NBA Selection, NBA 2K, and NBA Atelier – a boutique shop featuring the latest high-end NBA fashion – there is also a customization station for fans to create their own designs.

Beyond the fan events, the week features community initiatives with the 10 legends, along with players from the Nets and Suns and WNBA champion Myisha Hines-Allen, participating in youth clinics and charity events throughout the week.

Community events include a basketball fundamentals clinic at Lou Hau High School led by Mitch Richmond on October 8, and a “Her Time to Play” clinic for 30 teenage girls led by Hines-Allen and Deron Williams on the final day of the event.

Other outreach activities feature Tim Hardaway Sr. packing and delivering lunchboxes for elderly residents and families in need on October 10, ensuring the league’s visit has a lasting positive impact on the local Macau community.
