Free health talks at the Public Hospital next month

 

The Health Bureau announced that Conde S. Januário Hospital will hold its Health Education Lecture series next month, focusing on various topics.

The topics will cover Endocrinology and metabolism, Psychiatry, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. The lectures are held at the respective venues for each lecture.

All lectures are open to the public without prior registration requirements, and interested residents should note the specific venue for each presentation, with full details available on the Health Bureau website at www.ssm.gov.mo or through official promotional materials.

The lecture schedule for next month includes multiple sessions at different locations within the hospital complex.

Four presentations will be held in the Multifunction Room of the Patient Support Center, which is located next to the public parking lot in the Outpatient Building.

The schedule is as follows: “What I Need to Know About Blood Sugar,” on October 6 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., will cover the methods and importance of self-monitoring glucose.

This will be followed on October 13 by “Sick Days and Travel Days” for diabetic patients.

On October 20, the “Build a Strong Body” session will promote exercise from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Additionally, a three-part “Gestational Diabetes” series is scheduled for October 8, 15, and 22, running from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on each date.

Additional specialized lectures will be held in various waiting areas throughout the hospital.

On the Ground Floor of the Outpatient Building, the Psychiatry Outpatient Waiting Area will host a session on “Effective Methods to Improve Sleep” on October 15 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Three further talks are scheduled in different waiting areas on the second floor.

The Internal Medicine Waiting Area will present “Exercise Benefits for the Elderly” on October 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Later in the month, the Cardiology Waiting Area will feature “How Much Do You Know About Heart Failure?” on October 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Finally, the Urology Waiting Area will conclude the series with “Understanding Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)” on October 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
