Local authorities have approved a proposal by Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd allowing three Mocha Clubs-branded slot parlors to continue operating beyond the end of 2025 under a management company structure.
The approval covers Mocha Golden Dragon, Mocha Porto Interior, and Mocha Hotel Sintra, which will remain in operation after December 31 under contracted management arrangements with Melco.
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) confirmed yesterday that the application had undergone a formal evaluation process.
“Following a comprehensive analysis and evaluation, the Macau SAR government has granted authorization to Melco’s application to operate three existing slot machine parlors… through the contracting of a management company,” said the DICJ,
The move comes as a three-year transition period for satellite gaming venues draws to a close under the new 10-year gaming concessions, which took effect in January 2023. Under the revised rules, such venues must either be directly operated by concessionaires or run through approved management companies. Ricaela Diputado
