Gov’t to map AED locations on One Account app, expand emergency network

Residents will soon be able to locate all public automated external defibrillators (AEDs) directly through the Macao One Account app, as authorities roll out three measures to strengthen the community first-aid network.
Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture O Lam announced that the Health Bureau has compiled a distribution map of Macau’s 560 AEDs, which is set to launch within the year.
The government aims to increase the total to 680 devices by 2026, reaching roughly 100 units per 100,000 people.
A new first-aid training center is also being planned, while schools will integrate AED operation into curricula to build life-saving skills from an early age.
She added that a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center will be established this year at the Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre (CHCSJ). The hospital is already equipped to perform coronary revascularization procedures, and more than 380 surgeries have been conducted using the Da Vinci robotic surgical system.
Separately, a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) training clinic will be set up this year to provide systematic training for healthcare professionals in both the public and private sectors.
According to authorities, residents use TCM services on average twice a year, with about 30% of health voucher spending directed toward TCM treatments. YL
