Local woman loses MOP1.14 million in phone scam

A young local woman has reportedly fallen victim to a phone scam impersonating mainland law enforcement, resulting in a loss of nearly MOP1.14 million. According to police, the victim received a call last Friday from someone claiming to be a Wuhan police officer, who provided her full name and travel document details. Accused of being involved in fraud and money laundering, she was coerced into signing a confidentiality agreement and sharing her bank login details. She later discovered her funds had been transferred without consent.
