Macau braces for May Day visitor surge

Macau is set to see up to 170,000 visitors per day during the May Day holidays, driven by strong post-Qingming travel demand, Andy Wu, president of the Macau Tourism Association, said. Between April 3–7, the city recorded 3.48 million entries, including 1.34 million tourists. Wu noted Macau and Hong Kong remain top choices for mainland visitors amid rising travel costs. Individual travel is rising while group tours decline, and unlicensed guides pose challenges.
