The Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC) and the Macao ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce (MAICC) held their inaugural bilateral meeting on April 28 to strengthen exchanges and explore long-term cooperation across trade, investment, and business networking.
MAICC highlighted its mission to promote trade, economic, cultural, and tourism links between Macau and ASEAN countries, while serving as a bridge between the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia. MECC, established in 2012, represents European enterprises and focuses on facilitating commercial cooperation and cross-border networking.
Both sides discussed ongoing activities, including trade missions, exhibitions, and networking events, and agreed on practical cooperation measures such as joint business matching sessions, mutual event invitations, and member network sharing. A regular communication mechanism was also established, with meetings planned every six months.
Concrete plans include MAICC’s June 18–21 business mission to Vietnam and MECC’s annual gala dinner on May 15, with both sides agreeing to reciprocal participation.
