A delegation from the Macau chapter of Dress a Girl Around the World met with Mozambique’s Consul-General in Macau recently to present plans for an upcoming humanitarian mission to Mozambique, scheduled for February 7 to 21.
The meeting provided an opportunity to outline the initiative’s objectives and ensure coordination with local authorities for the delivery of aid.
The mission will focus on distributing children’s clothing, school supplies, and educational materials to communities in need.
Donations are set to reach Maputo Central Hospital, with particular attention to the pediatric and oncology departments, as well as youth-focused organizations promoting cultural and environmental development.
Dress a Girl Around the World is an international non-governmental organization founded in 2009 in the United States. Operating globally through volunteer networks, the organization provides free clothing to children in underprivileged communities, aiming to promote dignity, protection, and hope.
In a statement, the Macau chapter of organization stressed the urgency of this mission given Mozambique’s ongoing exposure to extreme weather events, including severe droughts, floods, and cyclones. The delegation also noted the dual institutional support backing the initiative, reinforcing community engagement and cooperation between Macau and Mozambique.
Officials from organization expressed gratitude for the Consulate’s reception and assistance, confirming that the support will facilitate smooth coordination on the ground and ensure proper distribution of donations, as cited in a statement.
The mission is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen humanitarian ties and contribute to sustainable development in Mozambique.
