Studio City Event Center unveiled to hotel employees

1-P003Melco Crown Entertainment’s Studio City Event Center (SCEC) held its first event last week as an introduction, along with the official unveiling of the center to over 8,500 of the resort’s employees. According to a press release from the gaming operator, the employees gathered to witness the start of the countdown to the Studio City opening, which is only days away.
The highlight of the rally was a 200-person parade presented by representatives from each department of the new resort. Sporting their new uniforms, the employees personified their brand’s slogan: “We are entertaining.” The mastermind of the House of Magic, the internationally-acclaimed illusionist Franz Harary, also performed, providing employees with a sneak peek of his theatrical magic show.

It will be a highlight in world entertainment and is set to revolutionize Macau’s tourism landscape through its world-class non-gaming offerings.” the co-chairman and CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment, Lawrence Ho, stated.
According to a press release issued by Melco Crown, the state-of-the-art “Heart of the House” is a gym specifically designed for employees and is believed to be the first of its kind in Macau. The resort also includes a movie theater, a food studio, and a boiler room, all specifically designed for employees to reduce stress levels.
Melco, which is currently under the control of Stanley Ho’s son, Lawrence Ho, and the Australian billionaire James Packer, previously announced that Studio City would open on October 27. The USD 3.2 billion property will be the first in a second wave of casino resorts due to open on the Cotai Strip.
The Hollywood-themed resort features Asia’s tallest Ferris wheel, along with other family entertainment attractions developed by Time Warner Inc. The resort will also feature a flight simulation of Batman flying through Gotham City, a 40,000 square foot indoor play center, a Pacha nightclub, and the House of Magic. The venue can seat 5,000 and will be the stage of Madonna’s two live shows in February. Staff reporter
