Wynn showcases imperial Huaiyang cuisine in culinary heritage celebration

Wynn Macau highlighted China’s rich culinary heritage with the return of the Emperor Qianlong’s “Culinary Journey to the South” Imperial Banquet, curated in collaboration with Huaiyang Master Chef Xue Quansheng.

The event aimed to promote cultural exchange and culinary excellence in line with Macau’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Held at the Wynn Palace Grand Ballroom, the banquet featured 36 intricately prepared dishes inspired by historical records of Emperor Qianlong’s southern tours.

Chef Xue, an inheritor of Jiangsu’s intangible cultural heritage, led a team of chefs to reinterpret classic Huaiyang recipes using refined modern techniques.

Wynn also hosted a masterclass at its Food & Beverage Academy, offering Wynn’s culinary team an opportunity to learn traditional skills and deepen understanding of Huaiyang cuisine.

“The event has also allowed us to further drive the in-depth integration between culture and tourism in Macau, propel the boom of the local tourism industry chain, and demonstrate the appeal of Macau as a World Center of Tourism and Leisure,” said Linda Chen, president, vice chairman of the Board and executive director of Wynn Macau.
