Corporate Bits | Two Macau students named Microsoft Office specialist World Champions

Macau_winnersCertiport, a Pearson Vue business, a test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, announced Saturday the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist World Champions in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, with two Macau students being named as Champions.
In its 13th year, the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship attracted more than 400,000 candidates from 130 countries. 123 student finalists participated in the final round of the competition.
Certiport recognized the top six student competitors at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship Student Awards Ceremony at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort and presented each with a USD5,000 scholarship. Two Macau students, Chan Ian Weng and Kin Ian Lo, were named champions in the Word 2010 and Excel 2010 categories respectively.

cem announces “power boy buddies design contest” result

To celebrate CEM’s mascot Power Boy’s 5th birthday, CEM launched the Power Boy Buddies Design Contest in April, with the Macao Polytechnic Institute and Macau Animation & Comic Alliance as co-organizers. There was a vigorous response to the contest, with over 200 entries received.
In the Open Group, Cheang Ka Pui was named Champion, with 1st runner-up Cheong Ka Ngai and 2nd runner-up Lei Kam Lon, each receiving cash prizes of MOP7,000, 5,000 and 3,000 respectively. In the Middle School Student Group, the Champion was Tam Tak Seng, 1st runner-up Mak Weng Kei and 2nd runner-up Lei Ka Hei; while in the Primary School Student Group the Champion was Leong Pek Kei, 1st runner-up Han Ka Yu and 2nd runner-up U Sin Lam. The winners of each Student Group were awarded cash prizes of MOP3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 respectively.
The winner of the “My Favorite Buddy” group was Wong Kim Fei, who received an iPad mini. Moreover, in the online lucky voters draw the three winners were Coalinga Lo, Tomeky Mak and Vai I Sio, who each received a MOP1,000 cash prize respectively.

CTM_Youth_Development“ctm youth development program” concludes

Organized by CTM, co-organized by the Bosco Youth Service Network and supported by the Fuhong Society of Macau and the Peng On Tung Service Center, the “CTM Youth Development Program 2014” was held between June 30 and Aug 1, aimed at fostering the holistic development of local youngsters through a series of training activities including work experience at CTM, volunteer service and an adventure camp. The program enabled the 20 participants to deepen their understanding in the local telecom industry, as well as arousing their insight and enriching their life experience.
The Graduation Ceremony was held on August 1 at the Mandarin Oriental Macau. Guests included Vandy Poon, CTM’s CEO, Gloria Silva, Vice President of Admin & HR, Patrick Ip, CFO, Aguinaldo Wahnon, Vice President of Legal & Regulatory, Declan Leong, Vice President of Network Services, Ebel Cham, Vice President of Commercial, Lei Pui Lam, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Educators’ Association of Macau, Wong Wai Kit, Chairman of the Bosco Youth Service Network, Chao Wai I, Director of Fuhong Society of Macau and Leong Weng Ian, Peng On Tung Service Center Manager.
